Join us for a night workshop conducted frequently beginning at iconic Navy Pier.
Working in the night glow of the Ferris Wheel, your guide will first give you a 40-minute presentation to help you understand your camera and how to use it to capture night photography scenes, including: when to shoot night shots, how to meter, why and how to use your tripod. The guide will also explain what all those features on your camera do, especially the ones controlling F-stops, shutter speeds, white balance and ISO and when and how to change them for night photography.
Following this overview, you will begin photographing the Ferris Wheel and other rides at Navy Pier, the Chicago night skyline, the walkways of Navy Pier, and possibly even some fireworks!
Throughout the safari, your guide will critique your photos as you are taking them, helping you to correct exposure, composition and white balance right on the spot, so that you can immediately see the effect of your own corrective measures.
This hands-on training will give you invaluable photo techniques for your future night photography while at home or during your travels! This three-hour safari meets rain or shine. Bring your camera, lenses, and a tripod. All skill levels and cameras are invited!
