Adventure Safari Network Foundation

Our Foundation

The Foundation, in conjunction with the Yellowstone Foundation and other partners have created an opportunity for a diverse group of high school students (8th-12th grades) to visit and experience America’s first National Park (Yellowstone). Dates are June 20-30, 2016.

The application process includes an essay, two teacher recommendations, and an interview.

The Foundation exists to educate the public about photography and how it can be used to document the world as it is, serve as a call to action, or to simply allow one to express and explore his/her own creativity. The Foundation also strives to raise awareness and appreciation of nature, and the impact of man on the total environmental system.

The Foundation:

  • Provides scholarships and free and low-cost opportunities for youth to discover photography
  • Holds speaker events open to the public
  • Works with non-profit agencies to increase environmental education and awareness
  • Has created and continues to manage a camera exchange program, increasing accessibility to photographic equipment.

Foundation opportunities are designed to accommodate basic skill levels and provide both instruction and constructive discussion throughout experiences. Participants gain first-hand knowledge about photographic equipment and concepts which allows the exploration of photography as a vocation, avocation, or simply a hobby.

As the photography knowledge increases within the public, we all become more proficient and effective in communicating through imagery. Expression through photography can have a significant, lasting impact and can aid in the conservation and restoration of our natural ecosystems for the benefit of humanity and the earth’s biodiversity.
